English Language Challenges I personally love the idea of learning different languages, so learning English in college is great for me. So far I have only had English for two semesters, I like to remember topics I have already seen and practice my skills in this language, but the fact that it is a class makes me feel pressured. One of my flaws is that I am a perfectionist and hard on myself, so this academic pressure makes me feel anxious and stressed. If English class were not graded or an academic responsibility I could enjoy it more without worrying so much about how poorly I might be doing.  On the other hand, I find that the use of blogs really helps improve writing skills, and it's a fun way to do it. However, I admit that it was a bit stressful to have to write it when it came together with other assignments and exams.  I think I need to improve my English in general. My strength in English is reading, while my weaknesses are writing and speaking. Whenever I speak, for exa

Changes to my study program Some changes that would be good for my program of study are to add more diversity in the types of courses we take, add more field and lab work, new authors, studies and gender perspectives. In addition, the length of the course should be shortened, or planned according to real statistics on how long it takes students to finish the career. Also, the academic load should be better organized and, in turn, decreased, since the current academic load does not leave time for students to pursue other activities or hobbies, which can lead to mental health problems. On the other hand, the faculty (FACSO) must improve its buildings, which compared to the Beauchef faculty are far behind in terms of infrastructure, space, and facilities. The faculty should add more green and recreational places, as well as laboratories and more classrooms. Unfortunately, I say this from my memories of the only time I went to college in person. Regarding the use of technology, I think t
Postgraduate Studies   Before entering Anthropology, my two career options were Anthropology and Psychology, both of which I really liked, so I decided that it would be a good idea to study both, so after studying Anthropology I would like to do a postgraduate course in Psychology. I would like to do this postgraduate course because I want to help other people as much as possible, I want them to feel well and have professional support to help them move forward in a healthy way. Besides, I feel that Psychology complements Anthropology quite well. I would like to focus primarily on the study of children and adolescents. I would like to study outside of Chile if possible, this is because I would like to be part of an educational system that values its students and teaching staff, and that does not see students as working capital or banks. I would also like to get to know new cultures, languages and places, and also meet new people.  I would like to study with a presential modality, where
My Future Job 🌟 I would like to have a job in which I have direct contact with people and can help them. I imagine my job as field research work in which I help to solve the problems of those studied, a job with an interdisciplinary perspective, where I can work on various issues including environmental defense, gender perspective, human rights, among others.  I would like to do mainly ethnographic work, that is to say, outdoors, but it is also necessary to do research work indoors.  Anthropology has so many approaches and topics that it is common to travel for work around the world. Personally, I love to travel so I would love to do it for work. Regarding the salary of an anthropologist, I think it is fine, but what I am concerned about is employability. My major is anthropology, which I chose because I am very interested in social and human studies. On the other hand, I would like to strengthen my knowledge by majoring in psychology. I am interested in doing another major because
What's like to study Anthropology? I study anthropology at Universidad de Chile in the Social Science Faculty.  I chose this career because I always found the study of human beings and cultures fascinating and necessary. I also envisioned myself in a social career with human contact rather than one surrounded by machines. In addition, my desire to contribute to a change for a better world influenced me as well.    I am currently in my second year and have not been able to have face-to-face classes since I was accepted into college due to the covid-19 pandemic. For these reasons, I have only had online classes, which is visually exhausting, hard to concentrate, lonely due to not having direct contact with my classmates, and stressful. However, it also has advantages such as being able to watch recorded classes, getting up later and not having to leave the house (at least for me). I hope the pandemic is over soon so I can see my loved ones and attend college. I would really hate to
Let's talk about the pandemic   The covid-19 pandemic   has brought many problems to the people, among them are: Increase in unemployment  and impoverishment of the Chilean  population. Increase in cases of gender violence, domestic violence demands and femicides. Closure of educational and care centers such as universities, schools, kindergartens, nursery centers, among others.  Increase in the price of food, basic necessities products and services.  High human infection and high number of fatalities. On the other hand, another consequence of the pandemic is the changes that people were forced to go through. Some of these changes are:  Change from presential modality to online modality for the classes. Closure of stores and restaurants. People should preferably shop online.  Prohibition of social gatherings of any kind. Finally, if we visualize a future after the pandemic, hopefully a near future, I personally believe that social gatherings will return, stores and restaurants will

The best holidays ever The best vacation I ever had, at least the one I remember best, was in 2008 when I was only 8 years old. My family and I went camping in Puyehue, Osorno, we stayed there for a week and a half.  A curious fact about that vacation is that the original plan was to go to Argentina, but we couldn't cross the border because only my mom, dad and older sister had identity documents, while my brother, sister and I didn't (we are 4 siblings), so they wouldn't let us cross the border. Because of that situation we decided to go to Osorno instead.  Personally, I feel it was the best vacation because it was the first time I traveled so far south in Chile and saw such a beautiful place with so much vegetation, I had previously traveled to natural places as well, but when we went to Osorno we stayed in a camping site that had access to the Puyehue lake, so we could go into the lake whenever we wanted, besides, you could see the mountain range in the background and
